Assemani (1725: 254-256) identified David, monk of Beth Rabban and then bishop of Kartaw, with the David of Beth Rabban mentioned in the catalogue of Abdisho bar Brika as the author of a Tractatus de mensuris, climatum et de variationibus dierum noctiumque (A treatise on measures, climates and on the variations in night and day).
