Title(s):
  • Ecclesiastical history in Coptic
  • ϩⲓⲥⲧⲟⲣⲓⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ
    (historia ntekklēsia, Ecclesiastical history)
Period covered:
Christ-Timothy Aelurus (477)
Language:
Coptic
State of Preservation:
Partial
Genre:
  • Ecclesiastical history
Remarks:
The work uses only the first seven books of Eusebius' Ecclesiastical history and it can be understood as a translation and continuation of Eusebius. It is assumed to have originally been written in Greek and to have relied heavily on the History by Timothy Aelurus. Given the fragmentary state, we cannot be sure about the precise scope and date of the work.
