Remarks:
Under A.M. 5950 (457/458), Theophanes Confessor writes about the troubles caused by Timothy Aelurus at Alexandria. He closes the entry by saying that Timothy even falsified some unpublished works of Cyril the Great and quotes as source a certain priest Peter of Alexandria.
It is not clear whether the whole account on Timothy or only the last piece of information comes from Peter. It is not clear either in what kind of text Peter recorded this information, although the verb used by Theophanes (historiein) seems to allude to a narrative of historical kind.
A Peter of Alexandria is also indicated as a notary of the Acts of the Council of Ephesus.
