Remarks:
The time of composition is still debated. The part on the exiliarchs after Mar Zutra III (sixth century), whose journey from Babylonia to Israel is mentioned in the work (520), is probably a later addition.The original composition may therefore be dated to the sixth century (Rosenthal 2007: 236).
