Title(s):
  • Chronographikon syntomon
  • Χρονογραφικὸν σύντομον
    (Chronographikon suntomon, Short chronography)
Period covered:
Adam-author's time
Language:
Greek
State of Preservation:
Full
Genre:
  • Chronicle (chronicle epitome)
  • Chronicle (synopsis)
Remarks:
Not all manuscripts contain all the tables included in de Boor's edition, and in two of them the composition appears anonymously. Consequently, Mango (1990: 4) questions the attribution to Nicephorus, arguing that the concept of authorship can hardly be applied to such a collection.
