Remarks:
Agapius of Mabbug reports a list of kings that reigned from Adam to Constantine, coming from an otherwise unknown letter of 'Chrysostom'. The name of the addressee of the letter has no diacritical marks in the manuscript of the Kitāb al-'unwān and its meaning is uncertain. The identification with Acacius bishop of Melitene was suggested by Vasiliev (1911: 558). Vasiliev consequently translated as 'bishop' the word 'ṣāhib', which can also mean 'governor'.
John Malalas, Chronicle 3.2 refers to a bishop John writing on Melchisedek; this possibly could be a reference to the same text.
