Title(s):
  • Chronicle
Period covered:
At least Creation-Evangelist John
Language:
Greek
State of Preservation:
Fragmentary
Genre:
  • Chronicle (general)
Remarks:
Irenaeus is usually identified with Irenaeus of Lyon, even though there are no clear points of contact with his oeuvre. Some of the material ascribed to him may actually be of a fifth-century date. Either the references to Irenaeus are fictitious or there was indeed a fifth-century chronicler called Irenaeus.
