Remarks:
The author is probably fictitious. The work is the third part of the so-called Syriac Julian Romance. Muraviev (1999: 206) argues that Aploris is a historical figure and identifies him with the historian Chorohbut. Gollancz (1928) suggests that Aploris is a corruption of Apolloris.
