Title(s):
- Armenian translation of the Chronicle of Eusebius
- Քրոնիկոն(Κ῾ronikon, Chronicon)
Period covered:
Abraham-325
Language:
Armenian
State of Preservation:
Partial
Genre:
- Chronicle (chronica)
- Form (translation)
- Chronicle (chronography)
Remarks:
The Armenian translation misses the last part of the Chronici canones and stops the chronicle in A.D. 301, but some missing passages are found in Ms. Matenadaran 2679 (cf. Drost-Abgarjan 2016). Christesen and Martirosova (2006) argue that the Chronicle had already been translated into Armenian by 450, a date already suggested by J.B. Aucher (1818), while Karst (1911) argued for a later date, ca. 600.
