Remarks:
There are eight manuscripts of Łewond’s History in the Matenadaran; four other manuscripts are preserved in the Library of the Mekhit’arist Monastery of Venice (Arzoumanian 1982: 31-33).
Chapters 13 and 14 preserve a correspondence between the Umayyad caliph 'Umar and the emperor Leo III. This correspondence was originally composed in Greek and translated ino Armenian (Gero 1973; Mahé 1996).
