Abu Zakariya Denkha is mentioned among other Christian historians by Al-Al-Mas‘udi in his Book of admonition and revision. According to Al-Mas‘udi, Abu Zakariya was a Jacobite and his historical work was about Roman and Greek kings and philosophers. He was a personal acquaintance of Al-Mas‘udi and they often discussed religious matters in Baghdad and Tikrit. The work could have been in Syriac.
