Remarks:
John of Ephesus reports that, while imprisoned in Constantinople during the dispute with the patriarch of Constantinople John Scholasticus, Paul of Beit Ukkame (that is, Paul the Black) started writing an account of what John Scholasticus had done to the Church. The account may have started in 565, the first year of John's patriarchate, or in 570, when the dispute between the two began. According to John of Ephesus, Paul was arrested when writing and could not finish the work.
