Ignatius wrote a Chronicle from Constantine to his own time, which Michael the Great says he fully included in his own. Michael describes Ignatius’ work as being very synthetic and mainly focused on the Roman empire. In the preface, which Michael quotes in full, Ignatius mentions Eusebius, Socrates, Zachariah (that is, Pseudo-Zachariah), Jacob of Edessa and Dionysius of Tell Mahre as his main sources.
