Remarks:
Theodosius of Edessa was Dionysius of Tell Mahre's older brother and he is mentioned by Dionysius in his preface among those who wrote 'histories that resemble ecclesiastical histories'. His work is lost, the only surviving fragment being a note on Jacob of Edessa's translation and continuation of Eusebius' Chronicle quoted by Michael the Syrian. In the last line of the note, the author says in the first person that he has copied Jacob's canons immediately after those of Eusebius, but it is not clear whether those words are still part of the quote from Theodosius or a remark from Michael. In the first case, they would imply that Theodosius had written a universal chronicle, which does not match with what Dionysius says in his preface. It cannot be excluded that Theodosius wrote two works.
