Remarks:
Dorotheus was supposedly a confessor under Diocletian and a martyr under Julian. The work which pretends to be a translation from the Latin, only surfaces at the end of the eighth century and seeks to prove the precedence of Constantinople over Rome. The work is also attested in Theophanes, Chronicle AM 5816 and 5854, and there exists a medieval Latin version.
