Remarks:
The existence of this text is generally accepted, even though the expansionist view on its reception as found in Brennecke (1988 and 1997) is not acceptable. Burgess (1999) demonstrates that the existence of a single Arian historiographer is not warranted: the first part of Bidez's fragments until 350 belong to Anonymous, Continuatio Antiochiensis Eusebii. Van Nuffelen (forthcoming) shows that the anonymous wrote a continuation of that chronicle until 363 and that we should prefer the reconstruction of Gwatkin and Battifol over that of Bidez. Ferguson (2005: 73) argues that the text is less arian than usually thought.
