(Historiola de iis quae temporibus Gothorum in Hispaniis acta sunt, Short history about the things that happened in Spain in the time of the Goths)

417-end of 6th c.?
Language:
Latin

Fragmentary
Genre:
  • Secular history (general)
  • Chronicle (chronica)
Remarks:
The history is said to cover the history of Spain under the Goths. This would indicate the period after the settlement in Aquitaine. Mommsen (1894: 221-223) proposed to identify the work with the Consularia caesaraugustana, but this is not accepted anymore. Collins (1994) has proposed to identify Maximus as the source or even author of the short version of Isidore of Sevilla's History of the Goths, but there is also little to support that identification.
