Remarks:
Land suggested that a part of the appendix of the Chronicle of 724 is to be ascribed to Thomas the Priest, namely the notices referring to the time from the ordination of Severus in 511 (Chabot 1904 (ed.): 143; Chabot 1904 (tr.): 111) to the Arab invasion of Syria in 636 (Chabot 1904 (ed.): 148; Chabot 1904 (tr.): 114). Palmer (1993: 5-12) has more recently suggested that Thomas could be the author of the whole manuscript, except for the list of Arab kings on the last folio. If we follow Palmer, Thomas the Priest should be added to the list of sources of Dionysius of Tell Mahre (Palmer 1993: 98) for a notice about an eclipse that occurred in 627. At any rate, it should be noticed that the Syriac title refers to the whole appendix to the Chronicle of 724 (Chabot 1904:140-150; Chabot 1904 (tr.): 108-116), and also to those parts which can not be ascribed to Thomas.
