Remarks:
The work may also have been written in Arabic. In the testimonium, Elias of Nisibis says that he is planning to write an Ecclesiastical history starting from the catholicus Abraham III (906-937), where the one written by Elias of Anbar stopped. He also offers a summary of Elias' ecclesiastical career from bishop of Anbar/Piruzshabur to metropolitan of Damascus and then of Assyria, under the catholicus John VI (1012-1018). He then quotes Elias' Ecclesiastical history as a source for the years 1210 and 1211 of the Seleucid era, i.e. 898/899 and 899/900 A.D. Both entries concern patriarchal and episcopal successions in the Church of the East.
