Remarks:
The relationship between the Ecclesiastical history and the Cause of the foundation of the schools is unclear: some discrepancies notwithstanding, it might either be that the Cause of the foundation of the schools relies on Barḥadbšabba 'Arbāyā's Ecclesiastical history or that they share a common source (cf. Becker 2008: 11-16).
