Remarks:
Greek manuscripts of John Malalas mention Papias among the authorities in the title. This is usually corrected to Pausanias (of Antioch), as Papias is never mentioned again. The later date of Papias of Constantinople (see below) renders it unlikely that they are one and the same person.
