Remarks:
De Halleux (1978: 5-13) discusses the relationship between the Melkite chronicle and the Syrian Orthodox Chronicle of 846 and reaches the conclusion that they both rely on a Chalcedonian source, which the chronicler of 846 reworked with anti-Chalcedonian bias.
