Period covered:
At least 595/596-605/606
Language:
Syriac
State of Preservation:
Fragmentary
Genre:
- Ecclesiastical history
Remarks:
The fragments preserved by Elias of Nisibis refer to events in the years 595/6-605/6. The last of them (Brooks 1910 (tr.): 125, 19-20) is not explicitly ascribed to any source by Elias, but since it concerns the death of the catholicos Gregory, whose consecration is mentioned in the very previous fragment (Brooks 1910 (tr.): 125, 13-16), it is very likely to come from Alaha Zekha, rather than from Micah of Beth Garmai, as conjectured by Brooks (1910 (ed.): 61 n. 1).
