Continuatio Antiochiensis Eusebii

Title(s):
  • Continuatio Antiochiensis Eusebii
Period covered:
325-350
Language:
Greek
State of Preservation:
Hypothetical
Genre:
  • Chronicle (chronica)
Remarks:
Burgess (1999: 126) considers the author to be Nicene, but given that the author accepts (a. 339) the deposition of Athanasius, he is likely to have been pro-Arian. Reidy (2015) identifies the author with Eusebius of Emesa. Such speculation is to be resisted and, anyway, based on a mistaken understanding of Jerome, on illustrious men 91.
