Remarks:
Photius (Bibliotheca 77) mentions two editions, of which the second was less anti-christian than the first. Modern scholars usually argue that the second edition also continued the first edition, which would have run until 395. According to Blockley (1981), three of the fragments that are preserved in the Excerpta de sententiis and Excerpta de legationibus are from the second edition of the History by Eunapius. It has been argued that the history was already published shortly after 378.
