Period covered:
Unknown
Language:
Greek
State of Preservation:

Genre:
  • Secular history (miscellany)
  • Form (compilation)
Remarks:
According to Janiszewski (2006: 84), Sopater of Alexandria can be identified with Sopater the Sophist. Though the identification is not unlikely, it cannot be proven. Nor is it certain that the Selection from histories and the Various extracts summarized by Photius are the same.
